Speke Health Centre, Liverpool

Speke Neighbourhood Health Centre was commissioned by Liverpool Primary Care Trust with a value of £7m.

The centre comprises a new, 2 storey 'H' shaped building with a large wind turbine located in the adjacent car. There are 2 single handed General Practitioner Practices, Chiropody services, bookable Treatment rooms, Education and Training and a Pharmacy.

The building was designed and constructed to achieve BREEAM Excellent standard.

The project to build Speke Neighbourhood Health Centre was developed in response to the various reviews of healthcare provision undertaken across North Merseyside in the early 2000's.

The resulting healthcare strategy called for the provision of better healthcare services located across the region in such a way as to make a wider range of services more easily accessible to the general public.
