It has been a real pleasure to support a local under 13’s football team, Sillhill Saints FC . . The club has been running since 1908 and supports boys and girls playing in teams running from as young as Under 6s right through to 4 adult/open age teams and veteran age teams. All teams are managed and coached by volunteers. The Under 13 team comprises a squad of 15 players; all of which are in year 8; so are 12 and 13 year old boys.
The team trains twice a week and plays matches on a Sunday morning representing the club in the Central Warwickshire Youth Football League. The boys and coaching team turn out in all weather and hence the request to the foundation was to support the purchase of training tops and waterproof training coats to keep the boys warm and dry during midweek training, pre match training and as substitutes during matches.
The gbpfoundation is keen to support both the physical and emotional well being of young people and being part of a team, keeping fit and healthy , meeting with team mates and friends and having an outlet supported by the goodness and enthusiasm of coaches willing to give up their time is so important. This is a club that once you are involved, will take children right through the difficult teenage years into adulthood and even through to the older generation wanting to keep fit and socialise.
We look forward to working with the club in the coming months and are in discussions to see what they can do to help raise money for our foundation.
