We're excited to announce that our 12 Days of Christmas Giving initiative is now upgraded to 15 days of Christmas giving!
We believe in the power of giving, and the input of staff across the gbpartnerships group has been crucial in selecting the good causes and charities we'll be donating to in the run-up to Christmas. As we had so many nominations from our staff team to choose from, this year we are able to make a hugely positive impact by supporting more charities and good causes that hold special meaning to our staff team.
Every working day in the run up to Christmas we’ll announce details of the charities and good causes who have been nominated for a donation. Today, we are delighted to announce that the first donation of £250 will be going to Compton Care.
Nominated by Gemma Dixon, Compton Care provide specialist palliative care and bereavement support for the people living in Wolverhampton, parts of the Black Country (Walsall and Dudley), South Staffordshire and east Shropshire - free of charge. Gemma, who has done a huge amount of fundraising and volunteering for Compton Care wrote in her nomination:
“I'm sure it's of no secret that I'm a huge advocate for Compton Care. Having cared for my Nan in 2021 during her final few weeks, I could not fault their service and they helped in more ways than you can imagine, even calling the family and checking in weeks after my Nan had passed, and ensuring we were fed and rested during overnight stays with my Nan in her final days. This was something the NHS could not do, and sadly we lost Nan in April 2021 due to a late cancer diagnosis. In 2022 I started volunteering for Compton, helping out in their retail stores, and helping to host their Annual Golf Day. I'm also on a fundraising campaign at present to raise much needed funds for them, as they are not government funded, and rely on donations to provide much needed palliative care to those who need it.”
