The gbpartnerships manage team have successfully completed the latest minor capital project on behalf of NHS Property Services. Devaney Medical Centre in Prenton has benefitted from a new roof covering an area of approximately 1500m2, equivalent to two full seized football pitches.
The gbp team project managed the 14-week project which included removal of old cement roof tiles, replacing damaged timber beams, batons and felt. Gutters and downpipes were also replaced to improve water flow and new facias and with anti-climb roller bars fitted for added security. External lighting was also rewired.
The roof uses composite lightweight roofing slate that is manufactured using the highest-grade Aluzinc steel. It is coated in a granulated finish and sealed using an acrylic glaze guaranteed for 40 years against weather penetration, requiring very little to no maintenance. This then reduces the amount of materials needed during the lifecycle of the building, the roofing slate is also a recyclable product.
