This Christmas, the gbpfoundation is making a range of donations to good causes and charities that are close to the hearts of our staff...
The third donation in our 12 days of Christmas giving goes to St Joseph’s Hospice in Merseyside, nominated by Hannah Dolan, gbpartnerships Consultant.
Income streams have been hit hard this year due to the closure of charity shops and cancellation of all the fundraising events. In the summer, St Joseph’s launched a campaign to support fundraising after COVID and to help sustain their future. This £150 donation from the gbpfoundation will go a small way towards helping to the hospice carry on their amazing work.
Hannah explains what the work of St Joseph’s means to her and her family:
St Joseph's Hospice provides specialist care for around 200 patients and their families, every year, from across a diverse geographical area, which includes Sefton, Liverpool and West Lancashire.
The care they provide is second to none. I know this personally as they cared for my granddad and other family members at the end of their lives.
The hospice’s amazing staff made a huge difference for my family at the end of my grandads’ life. It was a home away from home. St Joseph's Hospice helped my family feel comfortable and safe during a difficult period. All the staff that work there go above and beyond their duty of care.
