The gbpartnerships foundation provides funding and other kinds of non-financial support for the great causes that are important to the communities in which we work. Most recently, Head of Marketing & Communications, Jane Batchelor, has been working with Willowbrook Hospice in Lancashire on a voluntary basis, to support the development of the Hospice's Marketing and Fundraising Strategy.
Willowbrook Hospice costs approximately £5million to run each year and just 26% of this is received through NHS grants. The rest is funded through donations, legacies, retail shops and fundraising activities by a small team of staff, supported by volunteers. Every year, raising funds becomes more difficult as the cost of delivering services rises. Jane has been working with the Senior team at Willowbrook on a voluntary basis to develop their marketing strategy and identify ways in which the team can maximise their income generation activities. Alun Owen, Willowbrook Hospice Corporate Director commented:
“We are delighted and grateful to be working with the gbpartnerships foundation, they are helping us to identify and improve the key elements of our Fundraising Marketing Strategy. Jane has made an essential contribution to the further development of our income generation plans which will help us to continue to fund the crucial care that Willowbrook Hospice provide for the people of St Helens and Knowsley.”
Wendy Spencer, gbpartnerships foundation Director commented:
"We hope that this support has gone some way towards develop a sustainable future for Willowbrook Hospice. Now in its third year of operation, the gbp foundation is going from strength to strength and is a driving force for CSR activities across the gbpartnerships group. During the first half of 2021 we have provided funding and support for a wide range of good causes across the country, worked in partnership with our amazing staff team from across the gbp group of companies to identify opportunities to support local communities, and launched our first long-term charity partnership with Sea Cadets.
