A day of fun, health, wellness at the City of Coventry Health Centre

The City of Coventry Health Centre buzzed with activity on Friday, May 31, as more than a dozen voluntary and community groups joined forces with NHS services to welcome visitors and patients to a vibrant community day. The event, aimed at fostering connections and empowering individuals to prioritize their health and well-being, was hailed as a resounding success.

Hosted by Arden Estate Partnerships, Community Health Partnerships, and gbpartnerships, the event offered a variety of free resources and activities designed to promote healthier and happier lives. From informative sessions to engaging activities, the community-focused event had something for everyone.

Visitors to the health centre gave the event a glowing review, rating it as 4.5 stars out of 5. Attendees enjoyed a unique mix of attractions, including therapy donkeys Florence and Harriet, who provided comfort and joy. Big Gobs Puppets hosted a free puppet-making workshop, sparking creativity and imagination in participants of all ages. Other highlights included a free tombola, information and advice on energy-saving initiatives, a friendship corner, and free blood pressure checks.

Wendy Foxhall representing Coventry City Council's Start for Life project said:

What a great day! We had lots of really useful conversations with families, and it was a great opportunity to network with other organisations. Plus, donkeys – what more could you ask for!?”

The event underscored the importance of community engagement in promoting health and wellness, leaving attendees looking forward to future events at the City of Coventry Health Centre.
