This Christmas, the gbp foundation is making donations to 12 good causes and charities that are close to the hearts of our staff.
On the seventh day of gbp’s 12 days of Christmas giving, a donation of £400 is on its way to Clothing Coventry, a charity clothing bank, aiming to support those in need of good quality, second-hand clothes or shoes in Coventry.
gbp's Head of Marketing & Communications, Jane Batchelor, nominated the cause for donation as it provides invaluable support for the local community, enabling people to attend interviews leading to work and training, send their children to school, have a supply of clothes to go to work and get out of debt, keep warm, dry, and healthy. They have rails of clothes in the community that anyone can access and help themselves to, with season appropriate clothes.
The charity cannot distribute clothes and shoes without financial donations as their storage facilities alone cost up to £12,000 per year. The donation from the gbp foundation will go towards racking and storage, so that the charity is able to help more people in need.
We hope that that the donation makes a difference to those in need at this time of year.
