On the second day of Christmas giving...

Updated: Mar 18, 2021

This Christmas, the gbpfoundation is making a range of donations to good causes and charities that are close to the hearts of our staff...

On the second day of Christmas giving, the gbpfoundation donated £100 to support the recovery and rehab programme for Paul Brennan. Paul’s crowdfunding campaign was nominated by Vicki Ridgway, gbp Business Development and Estate Management. Vicki explains what Paul has been through:

“Paul fell poorly in April this year and was the diagnosed in May with 'Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma'. This is a rare type of lymphoma which starts in the central nervous system. Treatment for lymphoma of the brain is different from other brain tumours.
Since being diagnosed, Paul has gone through the most gruelling of treatment, completing four cycles of MATRIX chemotherapy and is currently recovering from a stem cell transplant.
These last six months have taken a huge toll on Paul, but there is still a way to go. Intensive physio, acupuncture; to name just a few of the treatments required to help him regain use of his arm and foot and start to get back to how things were.”

The donation from the gbpfoundation will go towards helping fund the intensive physio, neuro-rehab and scalp acupuncture that Paul needs after his cancer treatment, helping him to regain his life, as a husband and a father.
