Reflecting on 2023 and looking ahead.

Message from gbp's Chief Executive, Elaine Siew

As we approach the end of this year, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to you, and all of our partners, who we’ve worked with over the past 12 months.

This past year has been a challenging one for all of us. We have been successful, through hard work, innovation, resilience, dedication and good relationships, in providing a high-quality management service to our LIFTCos. We continue to add value to our portfolio in terms of quality, sustainability, and utilisation. In June, we welcomed 12 new buildings into our portfolio through hub West Scotland. This represents significant growth in the gbp manage business and has opened up a whole new geographical territory for us.

By working in partnership with our NHS partners and supply chain, we have successfully completed a wide range of projects to support better health outcomes - including the opening of the Dartmouth Health and Wellbeing Centre earlier in the year, and more recently, the Edenbridge Memorial Health Centre in Kent. Work has also begun at Mount Gould Local Care Centre, Plymouth - Community Health Partnerships’ biggest capital funded variation to date.

At the end of November, phase 2 works at Wood Green Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) were completed, bringing CT and MRI capacity into Haringey. gbp consult have played a key role in the project since 2021. When it opened in summer 2022, it was the first CDC in the country to be placed within a shopping centre. It is located close to diverse and deprived communities and will positively impact public health outcomes.

Looking forward, I am soon taking a much-anticipated sabbatical to South America, returning in March 2024. James Lloyd has been promoted to Deputy CEO gbpartnerships group and will be picking up CEO duties during this time.

The coming year holds even greater challenges, and we are committed to pushing the boundaries, embracing new opportunities, and continuing to be your partner of choice. Our focus remains on delivering excellence, fostering meaningful connections, and creating value that exceeds expectations.

Giving back to the communities in which we work - through financial donations, volunteering activity and pro-bon support - will continue to feature throughout all of our work. Keep an eye on gbp’s LinkedIn page with details of the good causes we’re supporting in the run-up to Christmas through the gbp foundation.

On behalf of the entire gbp family, I extend my warmest wishes for a joyous holiday season and a prosperous New Year. May the coming year bring you success, happiness, and continued collaboration.

Thank you for being an integral part of our story. Here's to another year of shared successes!
